Overview
The Consulate General of Peru in Guangzhou covers southern China — Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hunan and Hubei provinces. Guangdong alone accounts for roughly a tenth of China's GDP and is the country's manufacturing and export powerhouse. For Peru the region matters on both sides of the trade ledger: Guangdong's factories consume Peruvian copper, zinc and fishmeal as industrial inputs, while the Pearl River Delta's massive consumer market is a growing destination for Peruvian agricultural products, superfoods and textiles. The consulate is located in the International Finance Center in Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou's central business district.
Visa Services
The consulate processes visa applications for Chinese residents of its consular district travelling to Peru. Peru offers visa-free entry to holders of valid Schengen, US, Canadian, Australian or UK visas. Standard applications require a completed form, valid passport, photographs, proof of accommodation, return ticket and financial means.
Consular Services
The consulate provides passport renewal, document legalisation, notarial services, civil registration and emergency consular protection for Peruvian nationals across southern China. The growing Peruvian business community in Guangdong — involved in trade, sourcing and manufacturing — relies on the consulate for commercial documentation, powers of attorney and judicial cooperation. Emergency consular line: +86 182 1818 4731.
Trade & Export Support
Southern China is a critical corridor for Peruvian commodity exports. Guangzhou and Shenzhen ports handle significant volumes of Peruvian copper, zinc, lead and fishmeal shipments. The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair), held biannually in Guangzhou, is one of the world's largest trade fairs and a regular venue for Peruvian exporters showcasing minerals, agricultural products, textiles and handicrafts. The China-Peru FTA facilitates preferential tariff access for these goods.
Service Area
The consular district covers Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hunan and Hubei provinces.
