Overview
The German Consulate General in Guangzhou serves southern China — Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Pearl River Delta is one of the world's largest manufacturing clusters and a critical region for German industry: automotive suppliers, electronics manufacturers, machinery firms and environmental technology companies all maintain extensive operations here. The Canton Fair is a biannual fixture for German companies sourcing from and selling to the region. The consulate is located in the Teem Tower on Tianhe Road.
Visa Services
The visa section processes Schengen and national visa applications for Chinese residents of the consular district. Passport pickup is available Monday to Thursday 13:30-15:00 in addition to the morning public hours. All appointments must be booked online.
Consular Services
The consulate provides passport and identity card services, notarial acts, document legalisation, civil registration and emergency assistance to German nationals in Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and Guangxi.
Trade & Export Support
The economic department supports German companies in the Pearl River Delta — one of the world's most productive manufacturing regions. German automotive suppliers (Bosch, Continental, ZF), machinery firms and environmental technology companies maintain operations throughout Guangdong. The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair) draws German exhibitors and buyers biannually.

The consulate promotes German culture and language through partnerships with local universities and the Goethe-Institut. DAAD provides information on study and research opportunities in Germany.
