Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

The third corner of Madrid's Golden Triangle of Art, on the Paseo del Prado opposite the Prado itself. The Thyssen fills the gaps the other two museums leave — early Italian and Flemish primitives, German Renaissance, Dutch Golden Age (Frans Hals' Family Group), 19th-century American painting (Winslow Homer, Thomas Cole), French Impressionism, and a strong 20th-century section in the Carmen Thyssen wing covering Cubism, Surrealism, Pop and Lucian Freud.
