Overview
The Austrian Embassy in Beijing manages Austria's bilateral relationship with the People's Republic of China. Austria and China maintain a comprehensive strategic partnership covering political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation. The embassy coordinates three consulates general — in Shanghai, Chengdu and Hong Kong — and works closely with Advantage Austria (the commercial section), the Austrian Cultural Forum and the Austrian Tourist Office to promote Austrian interests in China. Visa Services

Consular Services
The consular section provides passport and identity card services, civil registration, document legalisation, notarial acts and emergency assistance to Austrian nationals across northern and central China. Trade & Export Support
Advantage Austria, the commercial section, promotes Austrian exports and investment in China. Key sectors include environmental technology, machinery, winter sports and tourism infrastructure, food and beverages, and life sciences. Austrian companies are active in China's green technology transition, ski resort development and premium food markets.
Cultural & Educational Programs
The Austrian Cultural Forum organises concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and scientific lectures showcasing Austrian art, culture and innovation. Academic cooperation between Austrian and Chinese universities is supported through OeAD.
